Beschreibung

BuLL-Net is a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Doctoral Training Network dedicated to unraveling the biological complexities behind bull fertility. The project brings together 8 main beneficiaries and 13 associated partner organizations from academia and industry, creating a unique, multi-disciplinary, and inter-sectoral research program. BuLL-Net will recruit and train 14 PhD students (Doctoral Candidates) who will work on innovative research projects at the interface of basic biology, applied science, and machine learning, all focused on improving the fertility of bulls for artificial insemination.

Erfolge & Ergebnisse

BuLL-Net is expected to provide new insights into the biological and molecular factors that influence bull fertility. The research will help clarify why some bulls have reduced fertility and how these factors can be identified early. By developing improved semen products from young, well-managed bulls, the project aims to make artificial insemination more predictable and efficient. The findings will also show how management and processing techniques affect sperm quality and function. In addition, BuLL-Net will train a new generation of researchers who can bridge the gap between science and industry. The project is designed to support sustainable livestock production and promote animal welfare by transferring knowledge and technology from research to practice.
