Goethe University Frankfurt

Goethe University is a cosmopolitan workshop of the future in the heart of Europe. Founded in 1914 by citizens for citizens, it has continued this tradition as an autonomous foundation university since 2008. Critically committed to its eventful history, it is guided by the ideas of the European Enlightenment, democracy and the rule of law and opposes racism, nationalism and anti-Semitism. Goethe University is a place of argumentative debate; research and teaching are socially responsible. With Johann Wolfgang Goethe as poet, thinker and natural scientist, it combines innovative thinking and interdisciplinary action.

FAIR4Rare

There are more than 6,000 diseases, each of which is extremely rare. In total, however, several million people are affected in Germany alone. A disease is considered “rare” if it affects no more than five in 10,000 people. The National Register for Rare Diseases (NARSE) serves to record as many affected people as possible in the long term in order to determine the health effects and care structures of these diseases in Germany.
