SACCO (ASST Fatebenefratelli Sacco) is an Italian public governmental healthcare institution composed of 4 hospitals and recognized as a research and teaching centre of excellence in many areas from infectious diseases to biomedical research.

Sacco works in close coordination with the Italian Ministry of Health and its agencies. In addition, the Laboratory of Clinical Microbiology, Virology and Bio-emergencies has strong relationships with different governmental and non-governmental international organisations like WHO, UNICRI, EU Commission, INTERPOL, CDC (US) etc.

BETTER

The Better Project is funded by the European Union’s Horizon program and the UK Research and Innovation Program. Its aim is to support the improvement of the European citizen’s health by creating a robust decentralised infrastructure which will enable healthcare professionals to exploit the full potential of larger sets of multi-source health data via tailor-made AI tools useful to compare, integrate, and analyse in a secure, cost-effective fashion across national borders, fully complying with present GDPR privacy guidelines.
