RESTLESS (empoweRing univErsity Students Through heaLth EntrepreneurShip trainingS) project reached its completion by end of February 2026. The European consortium is proud to announce the successful development of a pioneering suite of educational materials designed to bridge the gap between healthcare research and commercial viability.
Over the past two years, the RESTLESS project, a strategic alliance of leading European universities and innovation hubs, has focused on empowering the next generation of HealthTech entrepreneurs. With the project now in its final phase, the partners have unveiled a specialized, multidisciplinary course curriculum that addresses the unique challenges of bringing innovations and deeptech to market.
Traditional entrepreneurship courses often overlook the complexities of the healthcare sector, such as stringent regulatory pathways, clinical validation, and the nuances of healthcare procurement. The RESTLESS course material fills this void by offering:
- Interactive modules built around actual HealthTech startups, allowing students to navigate the ‘Valley of Death’ from prototype to clinical adoption.
- Focused training on the ‘soft’ and ‘hard’ skills required to lead multidisciplinary teams of clinicians, engineers, and investors.
- A blend of digital and hands-on sources that can be seamlessly integrated into existing university curricula across Europe.
A Lasting Legacy for the European HealthTech Innovation Area
‘The conclusion of RESTLESS marks the beginning of a new era for our partner institutions’, said Jacek Nowak, the Coordinator of the Project and Head of the Industry Cooperation Office of the University of Silesia, in Katowice, Poland . ‘By providing educators with a validated, open-access framework for healthtech entrepreneurship, we are ensuring that brilliant European health- and medtech research doesn't just stay in the lab but reaches the patients who need it most’.
The consortium is currently hosting a series of final validation workshops and dissemination events to share these resources with the broader academic and industrial community.
All materials developed during the project will remain available through the project’s digital portal, serving as a permanent resource for the European Higher Education Area.
